Day 243: Miyavi Finale
After watching 1/2 of Miyavi's Tokyo lives, this is the end. To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed watching him. Everything was absolutely energetic, full of passion, and, most importantly somewhat made me feel like I was a part of it all too, despite the fact that I had to watch this from a computer screen. Maybe this should be a cue for other artists to start broadcasting their lives to get closer to their fans too?
Miyavi strips! Yes, I was watching the finale. The encore went on for about 40 minutes this time, making it nearly 2 hours worth of watching Miyavi jam new songs. I'm sad that it's all over though.

Day 242: Slaves
Many artists would give their fans a nickname. For Lady Gaga, it's "Little Monsters". With Luna Sea, it's "Slaves".
This photo was not taken on the 30th, but on 31st (but since there's a conflict of photos and I didn't take one today, I chose this one). I took this when Luna Sea was about to start the press conference in Hong Kong to announce their come back and a world tour. I was watching this live broadcast on USTREAM. I wonder who tweeted this...(most likely a member of staff.)

Day 241: Jack Daniels and Coke
This is my first attempt at playing with ISO and aperture settings on my SLR. So...maybe things will improve after?
Jack Daniels! Except that it only has 5% of alcohol in it and it's mixed with coke. Methink's it's a version of near-grog for someone like me who can't take on hard whiskey and other strong spirits without watering it down with something.

Day 240: Fossilized Shrimps
Food entry!
A friend brought this shrimp food today. I forgot what it's called, but it really does remind me of fossilized shrimps. I mean, check out the texture of it and all!

Day 239: Caught on the seat
This is another art from the series of Social Networking at the Esplanade.
Another piece of art from the Social Networking series. This is probably to show that even private moments like taking a dump could be seen by the public. Scary!

Day 238: Red Popcorn!
Ah...I really do miss Diablo! Given I haven't played a necromancer before, I gave it a shot.
My necromancer, named "Enslaver", in a game of single player Diablo. This is what happens when I use corpse explosion! Mmmm...red popcorn!

Day 237: Darth Vader in the Mall!
Lo and behold! Guess who I saw at the mall?
Darth Vader spotted at the mall! This is the closest I could get since the doors are locked.

Day 235: Blizzard Geekiness
Guess what boredom does to you? Make you buy things! And guess what frequent comments of "you know you want to!" (courtesy to Raya leads to...?
Despite the fact that I wanted to buy Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty at a later date, I gave in to my inner geek and bought some Blizzard packs. I wanted to install SC2 on the Mac OS, but it's not up to date, and I was too lazy to do so in the Windows XP. So yes, it's still sitting around, uninstalled! But Diablo's on my computer though...

Day 234: Social Network Art
This was taken in the passage way that links the Esplanade and Raffles City.
Social Networking has taken over our lives! This artwork really made me laugh as I went through the underground pass of the Esplanade. So...does anybody recognize their relationship status?

Day 233: Swans
This is the second week of photo shooting with Phocus.
Swans at Botanic Gardens. I was lucky to get a shot of them in this position at 200mm (squee!) The instructor pointed out that I managed to take a shot of their reflections, which I didn't even notice initially. I suppose this shoot was the turning point of my composition skills.

Day 232: Esplanade Scales
This photo actually came from my very first photo shoot with Phocus. I think I did pretty well, considering it was the first one!
Esplanade up close. This is one of the photos from the first photo shoot I had with Phocus Academy. So...does anybody want to use this as their desktop wallpaper?

Day 231: Honestade
Another one of those days when I was out.
Honestade. As much as I enjoyed the drink, it's still a little to bland for my liking. I only bought this drink because I wanted a thirst quencher and there was a decent looking guy who was selling this nearby.

Day 230: Fountain Pen
I was on the streets window shopping when I saw this.
Mont Blanc sure makes beautiful looking fountain pens. Makes me think of the days when I would obsessively use fountain pens back in Forms 1-3 (circa 11-13 years old).

Day 229: Miyavi August
August certainly has been really exciting for me and the internet. Because Miyavi was streaming all his Tokyo lives onto USTREAM!
Miyavi's live streamed onto USTREAM! I pretty much spent 1/2 of August just sitting in front of the lappy at 7pm for an hour to watch this awesome artist singing SURVIVE and What's my name? Makes me want to give him one of those "Hello! My name is..." stickers!

Day 226: Wintermelon Soup
Again, didn't take a photo today out of demotivation.
Wintermelon soup! I don't know about the health benefits, but I love it when I drink it in winter. Except...this was taken in ROFLAND and the only season in existence is summer.

Day 225: Delayed
It was time to go back to ROFLAND (aka end of my mini holiday). It makes me want to cry just thinking about it.
Hong Kong airport. My flight was delayed for an hour so I was just sitting there. I was in no hurry to get back. Boo...

I lied. It's not entirely made of truffle! But still, it didn't stop us from ordering!
Sushi with specks of truffle on top. Just because we wanted some truffles!

Day 223: Tops Obsession
Out of obligation, we had dinner with Squishy's extended family. Which led to going to his little cousin's place to entertain the kids for some extra time before leaving.
Tops in a steel pan. Squishy's cousin is obsessed with it because of the anime title (that I can never remember, but if you're interested, there's the Chinese name for it that's stuck there in this photo). First was Gundam, then Dragonball, after Sailormoon, next Pokemon, now tops. What next? Walrusaurus?

Day 222: Machine Guns!
I haven't played arcades with someone in ages. So Squishy and I decided to go to the arcades (because there's a new game he wanted to try out). Machine guns!
You can't really see them, but the machine guns are there! So all I needed to do for this game was just press the button and follow the gang of mozzies that are coming towards you. No ammo reload needed! And, this game is an "indication of your love compatibility". LOL?

Day 221: Bottles of Gold
Didn't really take a photo today - but I did take a nice photo at Changi Airport...regarding gold!
Absolut Vodka is doing a promotion at the duty free shops in ROFLAND. I love the gold shiny bottles all stacked there. Well, when it's all shiny and stuff, of course you're going to take photos! AMIRITE?

Day 220: Promotion!
I went home for a few days - simply because I needed a break. I was pleasantly surprised today though!
I got promoted to Business Class today! I didn't realize this (as I always checked in online to avoid queues) until when I was waiting at the gate. Haven't had upgraded service in ages.

Day 219: Kachang!
When you're feeling really really really really really hot, you can't help but eat a lot of ice. I'm not kidding. Your mouth becomes dry, you insides start to boil, and you feel thirsty to the point of wanting to just melt in the middle of the streets.
This is called Kachang. A Malay origin, it's shaved ice dessert that's topped with chemicals artificial sweeteners of some sort, with a splash of condensed milk, some jelly, azuki (red) beans, and, in my case, some mangoes. Not a big fan, but when none of the other desserts look appealing, it's not like you have a choice!

Day 218: The Notebook
I'm so excited that the Photography Foundation Course I signed up for is starting tomorrow! So I bought a notebook...to record some notes about aperture and all that techie stuff that I never understood before...
A notebook on my printer. For writing my photography notes on!

Day 217: Pasta Mania
I didn't want to eat McDonald's so often and I fancied something different for my delivery today.
I gave Pasta Mania delivery a try today. Their baked rice is mouth wateringly good, and like all good pasta restaurants, they provided chili flakes, which I totally love in comparison to the local sweet chili sauce which I never put in my food because I hate the taste.

Day 216: Tokio Hotel
Any Tokio Hotel fans reading my blog?
At the time I took the photo, it was also the same day Tokio Hotel was going to make an appearance for an autograph session here. Call me old fashioned, but I've never listened to their music before so I didn't have the patience (or the fan squee) to wait around until that time just for a couple of signatures. One of my classmates did get to see them in the flesh later on in the day though (who admitted that she only "squealed and take photo" of them.) LAWLZ.

Day 215: Bricked
Some more arcade game lessons!
I've never seen this arcade machine before, so it's worth putting up. Basically, you construct bricks for the characters in the screen to climb to reach the objects they need to collect. Cute game, but the grubbiness of the bricks kind of creeped my hands out.

Day 214: Oils and Potions
No photo today, so am putting yesterday's. This store sells oil, but the bottles on display look so cool!
An oil shop. I love the bottles that act as the oil containers...makes me think it's a potion store! Maybe they might sell some health and mana potions?
