May: Photo of the Month
May...? Yet another month full of eww.

Photo of the Month
Day 135: Sturdy Steel
From Project 365 (v.2010)
I really do like this photo. Maybe it's because I'm finally starting to have a sense of Amantis in my life? Runner ups are Day 138: Longcat vs. Tacgnol! and Day 143: Pink Fluff

LOL Factor
Day 138: Longcat vs. Tacgnol!
From Project 365 (v.2010)
I almost picked this as the Photo of the Month, but it's Longcat vs. Tacgnol! Somebody please photoshop Longcat and Tacgnol in there!

Blah Photo
Day 145: Leather Bed
From Project 365 (v.2010)
There have been plenty of blah photos this month, though I don't think most of them can get any worse than this yet.

Another month of semi-horrid photos. I'm starting to think that my photos really are mood dependent. Question is, how can I be inspired when I'm completely uninspired?

Day 151: Pins and Needles
How much more thorny can you get?

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Bah...Another day of facing a sewing machine. The more I look at them, the more I feel that my brain's filled with pins and needles like my box of needle box here, thrown in with some bobbins in their cases.

Day 150: Ye Ole Facebook
I've decided that l337sp34k is too weird to read, in the sense where I feel like GAHEADGA's invaded my Facebook. Hahahaha (more on that in the next paragraph). So I've switched over to Pirate Talk, which is simply...full of lulz and is just amazing!

*GAHEADGA...he was this user who was really active back when I was still moderating/administering BattleForums.com, and his only way of speaking there is AOL speak. That is...

"GAGAGA LOLLLLOLOLOLOLLL WTF I LYK3 TAC0Z! NAO UNBAN MEEEHEHEH!"

I suppose he's been banned and unbanned so many times for spamming in leet talk, he's probably got a higher ban record than the number of registered users there totaled. Hahaha. It's funny in its own way, but pretty damn stupid too, in the sense where you feel your IQ has probably dropped by 70% after reading his shit.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Pirate talk on Facebook! It's more understandable than leet talk, and I love some of the following changes: "Events" becomes "Grog Fest", "Messages" becomes "Bottle o' messages", and the part where you change your status updates becomes "What be troublin' ye?" ARR! (Like!)

Day 149: Fh3c3b3wk pr0n!
I never knew that Facebook had a l33tsp34k option, until I saw it on coRt's lappy when he came to see me in Hong Kong. So why not have a laff?

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Ma Fhecebewk in leetspeak! I like how the normal "Photos" is newly labeled as "pr0n" (AHAHAHA), "Friends" becomes "n00bz" and "<3" is kind of cute.

Day 148: On the Street Where I Live
I took photos of the street where I live before, but none of it was ever close up.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
The street that I can see from my place, close up. It's got a restaurant where we order deliveries from and a sex shop. I've always questioned why Singapore would even allow such establishments, given they've pretty much banned all sorts of media and such that's supposed to form some sort of arousal or are too "inappropriate for society". =P

Day 147: Calendar's on the Wall (May)
Happy birthday to my favourite bassist...REITA! a.k.a. Noseband. LOL. We all know it's the best disguise ever...I doubt anybody will recognize him without that strip of fabric on his face.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
May features Reita of the GazettE - the photo on the left features his outfit from Before I Decay and the one on the right for The Invisible Wall single / DIM album release. Once again...happy birthday you rockin' spunk.

Day 146: Controls
Deep down inside my gut, I genuinely feel like I'm losing control.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
The control for the air conditioning and the light in my room. Yup...loooooosing it...

Day 144: Dark Road Ahead
It really has been a day full of blah - meaning mainly sewing and drafting. We stayed until something like 21:30 at school. I hate staying this late doing things I dislike (a.k.a sewing).

From Project 365 (v.2010)
This is the hallway at the time I left the work room (21:30). The day number 144 (rhymes with "die die" in Chinese - literally) and the dark corridor suits my mood and feelings really well: further ahead of me is going to be a journey full of unaided blind groping. Oh, and taken on "24th"..."easy die".

Day 143: Pink Fluff
As the sun set today, I spotted some pretty clouds from my room.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
They say that the hour or so before sunset is the most beautiful daylight (other than dawn). While I didn't catch the golden rays, I certainly made up for it with the pinkish ones.

Day 142: Paint Me Ivory
Last night was the first time I've played with spray paint in my life. Despite the cool factor of claiming that I feel like a graffiti artist, I absolutely hated the smell. Don't think I'll want to do this again unless if I'm required to.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
As part of our graduation, we're required to make one (miniature version) outfit from the collection we're making to display on wooden mannequins. But they want the dolls to be in ivory, so we're required to spray paint them. The one that's doing the gazelle (lol, just typed GazettE!) that's closer to the camera is mine.

Day 141: Japanese Inspired Penne
Despite my lactose intolerance, I still enjoy a good baked pasta with delicious cheese if I've got a chance (and if my stomach hasn't been milked for the day).

From Project 365 (v.2010)
This is some Japanese inspired baked pasta - I love eating unagi (Japanese fresh water eel), seaweed, cheese and penne, but not normally I don't eat them all at the same time. The combo was interesting, but I don't think I'll be eating this on a frequent basis.

Day 140: Guess who I saw?!????!!
I was talking to one of my classmates today, we were chatting about what sort of stuff we buy and excite us as we flipped through a fashion magazine that she bought. For her, it's bags, shoes and cosmetics that catch her heart. For me...J-Rockers. Though obviously it has to be the select few that I'm totally crazy about. And on the way to grab dinner...guess what I saw that grabbed my heart?!

From Project 365 (v.2010)
It's a stand selling posters, and the GazettE is there! *squeeeeeee!* As I was taking this photo, the guy asked if I was taking photos of the GazettE, and actually propped it right there in a better position for me to snap! (To be specific, I was trying to take it at a weird angle.) Damn, I forgot to thank him before I left - maybe I should go back there and pay my 10 bucks for the poster some time?

Day 139: Fresh noise
I was in dire need of some new music, and set about looking for a couple of cool new stuff to eventually add to my iPod.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Some new songs that I got. Note that it includes SUGIZO's Fatima, Christina's new single Not Myself Tonight and a whole bunch of (1950s) stuff that you can hear from Fallout 3's Galaxy News Radio play list. Super mutants to be expected for the next road trip!

Day 138: Longcat vs. Tacgnol!
When I looked out of my window (yes, I spend a lot of time in my bedroom nowadays!), I absolutely had to take a shot! LOL.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
The sky really reminds me of the LOLCat pic Longcat vs. Tacgnol. AHAHAHAHAHA

Day 136: Flying Fish!
I met up with some friends I haven't seen in a while for dinner. The fish they ordered certainly caught my eye!

From Project 365 (v.2010)
It's a flying fish on a plate! Seriously, the way the meat was shriveled up, you'd swear it looked like it wanted to jump out of the pan.

Day 135: Sturdy Steel
I haven't had jewellery shots yet, and I did want to show this off previously.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
I got this for around 30SGD, including the price of the letters scratched onto the bracelet. I want to get another cool gadget/accessory with Amantis on it. Maybe something in the future now that I've got my logo designed?

Day 134: Numbing Chillis
I like chillis in general. I eat all sorts of chilli stuff, be it Indian, Mexican, Sichuan...but have you eaten those that make parts of your mouth numb? It can be found - particularly China where this sort of chilli would be "ma2 la4", meaning "numb hot". There have been times in the past when I've eaten ma la hot pot until I felt something like my inner right cheek losing feeling and my tongue feeling funny. Its name really does match the food.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Some "ma la" (numbing chillis) at a hot pot restaurant. It's been a while since I've eaten this sort of chillis, and oh my...how red it is!

Day 133: Hello Dolly
As much as I love getting creative, I hate the mess it makes. Because I had to do a collage for one of my collections, I end up getting UHU glue all over my fingers and lots of fabric scraps all over the floor.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
A collage for one outfit for one of my mini collections. Ballerina style! Oh, and you know what's in that satin "arm"? Tissue paper.

Day 132: Posh Music
I needed time out so I went back to Suntec City to explore the CD store there. It was blaring with what most people would consider as "what the trendy people and classy people would listen to" - which was mainly lounge jazz.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Music Establishment sure is a beautiful store, complete with amplifiers and high quality boom boxes. It's even got chandeliers and loads of similar poster portraits in gold frames all over the walls! I'm certain my dad would love it here.

Day 131: True Art Friend?
I bought so much more art goods today - I think Art Friend is being my money leecher. Eep.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Other than buying more Copic markers to add to my already overflowing collection, I've also bought a some watercolours (don't ask how I managed to buy 2 boxes, I was in a serious daze), oil pastels, some paint brushes, a watercolour pad (by Fabriano - love the Italian paper, but oh so expensive!) and a water bucket. Hopefully, I can add more variety to my illustrations from now onwards.

Day 130: Fountain of Wealth???
I can't believe it, I've been living here for almost half a year and I've never been to Suntec City (a mega mall near the school) before! What was funny wasn't the size of the mall, but the fountain that can be found, called....The Fountain of Wealth! Apparently it appeared in the Guinness Book of Records in 1998 for the "largest fountain in the world".

From Project 365 (v.2010)
The Fountain of Wealth! Found in Suntec City, you need to walk around the centre 3 times to gain wealth (when the water's mostly turned off, like in the photo - otherwise you'll just get wet!).

Day 129: Bejewelled
Today...is Mother's Day in the US. I've been holed up in the "DUN WANNA" side of feelings - so it was a bit of a blur.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
A shot of Bejewelled, an online game that I've been playing when I'm brain dead.

Day 128: Russian Rhapsody
A university friend I haven't seen in a while treated me to a symphony orchestra (as one of her job perks). I can't remember the last time I've actually been to a proper concert just to listen to classical music, and when you haven't sat in a session in a while, you can't help but enjoy it all the more because of such a rare opportunity to listen to good music. The best part of the show? They were playing Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, an absolutely beautiful piano concerto. Maksim (one of my favourite pianists) has a more techno edge to his version, which can be found here in YouTube if interested in listening to the melody. I really do suggest listening to the 10 minute version (which is way shorter than the one I sat through), the mood changes throughout and it really is one of those that a person should at least listen to once.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra performing the Russian Rhapsody at the Esplanade. It was a fantastic night (thanks again dear!) - but kind of wished that I took another photo - I hate that guy's head ruining my shot!

Day 127: Pretty Pocari
One of my collections is ballerina based - but to be able to get past a mental road block, experimentation is required!

From Project 365 (v.2010)
I was playing with bridal tulle for my Distress and Coma crazy ballerina inspired collections (face it, the GazettE is bound to become my inspiration sooner or later!). And given I didn't have a mannequin, I had to make do with making my bottle of Pocari Sweat look pretty!

Day 126: Signs of Age
Last minute day, once again.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
A stain that's on my window in my room. I didn't notice it before until I had to take today's photo. See what 365 does to you? It drives you to become more observant of smaller details!

Day 125: Espress and Cream Chip
A Starbucks photo is bound to pop up somewhere some time in my 365! While plain coffee would probably suck (and overpriced), Starbucks still has the best flavouring agents, a fact that Raya told me to which I agree with. This is probably one of those only places where I wouldn't order straight coffee and would rather mix a whole lot of syrups and add ons.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
A new drink that I tried from Starbucks that's named as Espresso and Cream Chip Frappuccino. It almost tastes like a Mocha, only slightly less sweet and more coffee taste.

Day 124: The Soup Spoon and Orangina
I totally love The Soup Spoon in Singapore. Not only do they make soup that fills my cold heart (despite the heat), it's always absolutely delicious and very fulfilling. Guess you can call it my comfort food. Oh, and if there's one thing that brings me back into a sense of nostalgia, it's Orangina - the orange fizzy drink from France that you can also get in Mauritius. They sell it here too!

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Soup from The Soup Spoon! I had Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout, really velvety and easy to digest. I also ordered Orangina (just because I can!) and an extra bread roll so that I can get an extra stamp on my card. I was pretty damn hungry at the time too.

Day 123: Graduation Book
One of my classmates was kind enough to pick up a previous graduation book to show me what I needed to do for my graduation page.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
A page from a previous graduation book for the school. I love the sketch that the ex-student did. Kind of makes me feel some envy when I know that I can reach that level (or maybe even higher), but something always makes my stuff look amiss.

Day 122: Injuries
Today has been rather significant. Not only was I in a complete daze for the entire time, I managed to stub my big toe onto the escalator grit by walking too fast. Nothing too serious other than some bleeding (which seems to happen massively at the foot area whenever I get a wound there, despite the small cut!) It's also a significantly emotional time as I grieved once again.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Some purchases at Watson's for my stubbed toe: Savlon cream, plasters, cotton buds, and a heart made from fancy pipe cleaners my flatmate made - I included it as a remembrance that no matter what, love is a way to mend and heal ourselves too.

Day 121: MRT/MTR
Personally, I prefer to say MTR (standing for Mass Transit Railway) for the subway when I'm in Hong Kong. But over here, the Singaporeans decided to switch the letters around, and call theirs the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). I'm feeling ridiculously biased at the moment.

From Project 365 (v.2010)
Once again, the view of the street from my room! But take note that this is the subway station near my place - the same one that goes to the airport.
